Terms of use

Last updated October 14, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and VolunteerSlot when you use volunteerslot.org, written in plain English.

Who we are

VolunteerSlot (“we”, “us”) is a volunteer scheduling service run by an individual based in Virginia, USA. You can reach us at volunteerslothelp@gmail.com.

Using VolunteerSlot

Coordinators create an organization and build schedules. Volunteers sign up for shifts through a schedule’s link, without an account. By creating an organization or signing up for a shift, you agree to these terms and to our privacy page.

VolunteerSlot is free to use.

Coordinator accounts

  • You must be at least 18 to create an organization.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Give your organization a name that’s accurate. Don’t pretend to be an organization you don’t represent.

Your schedules and your volunteers’ information

The schedules, descriptions and documents you add are yours. You give us permission to store them, show them on your sign-up pages, and send them in emails, only as needed to run the service for you.

When volunteers sign up, you receive their names and contact details. Use them only to organize your volunteers (scheduling, reminders, thank-yous), not for unrelated marketing, and don’t share them with anyone who doesn’t need them for that purpose.

Things you can’t do

  • Use VolunteerSlot for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.
  • Send schedule links or emails to people as spam.
  • Collect sensitive information through schedules or notes, such as health details, government ID numbers or financial information.
  • Upload documents you don’t have the right to share, or that contain malware.
  • Try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, or interfere with how the site runs.

We may remove content or suspend an organization that breaks these rules. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep VolunteerSlot running and your information safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that every email or reminder will arrive. Please keep your own copy of anything critical; the Print and Export CSV buttons on each schedule are there for that.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, VolunteerSlot isn’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed shift, an understaffed event, or lost data. VolunteerSlot only helps organize sign-ups; what happens at your events, and the conduct of the people who take part, is up to the organization running them.

Ending your use

You can stop using VolunteerSlot at any time, and email us to have your organization deleted. We may change or discontinue the service; if we ever plan to shut it down, we’ll give coordinators reasonable notice so they can download their schedules first.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll email coordinators before they take effect. Continuing to use VolunteerSlot after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. If a problem comes up, please email us first; most things can be sorted out by talking.
